15 Amazing Natural Remedies You Can Find at Walmart

Natural remedies at Walmart? Say whaat? Yep. Have an open mind to finding amazing cold and flu remedies at Walmart. Cold and flu always knocks on the door at the worst times! Have you been there?  Thank God Walmart is opening back up to their 24-hour schedule! We all need them to stay open!

Not only do we need cold and flu solutions that work, but ones that work fast. Plus, finding remedies that don’t cost a fortune still remains a priority!

I found myself at Walmart one night trying to solve this problem, looking for budget relief and anything natural. I looked for whatever I could find to bring relief. Surprisingly, I found more natural remedies than I expected. I stayed within budget and came home with teas, vitamins, and fruit.

What do you mean by natural remedies?

I mean, you might have a different idea of what a natural remedy really is. Well, a natural remedy is a natural, nonmedical thing we can take to feel better.

Think of it as super nutrition, along with a few natural go-to’s such as teas, food, vitamins, essential oils, and herbs. Further, we might even mix some of these natural remedies together to make another natural remedy.

Over the years, Walmart has created a natural remedy section in their stores. Or, at least the Walmart near us does this. While it may not be an herbal or health food store, it does have a decent selection of options.

So, if you need natural remedies for your family at any time, Walmart is open, then you can find the following natural remedies at Walmart.

You might think natural comes only in the produce section, but not always. Natural remedies usually include teas, produce, raw honey, vitamins, coconut oil, and raw cocoa powder. Additional preservatives will not be present and will only be God-made in general. These cold and flu solutions leave you feeling better and help you get over your cold bug faster than traditional cold and flu alternatives.

Echinacea

Look in the tea section for boxed teas like Traditional Medicinals for echinacea.  Echinacea supports the immune system and boosts your body’s ability to fight infection.

Peppermint

Peppermint tea bags for opening up the airways help anyone to breathe. Even peppermint hard candies can help with this if you are really in a pinch. It is probably the one time I would say don’t worry about the sugar! 😉

Cranberry

Cranberry supplements, which help support the immune system can be found sometimes in the vitamin section. However, cranberry juice works as well. Plus, we even find it a nice treat when steamed with cinnamon and cloves.

Raw honey

Raw honey, honey that has been unfiltered and unheated, contains many antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-fungal properties. Notice, that the description must say raw honey, or you are just buying flavored corn syrup. Find it in the honey section in Walmart.

Elderberry

Elderberry is a great cold and flu remedy. I found an elderberry syrup in the ethnic natural remedies section, along with an herbal tea. I admit, though, that is probably pretty rare. Celestial Seasonings contains a cold remedy tea with elderberry that should help you. Elderberry stands as a well-known anti-viral berry and drink.

Throat Coat Tea tea bags

Traditional Medicinals tea bags that contain licorice, slippery elm bark, marshmallow root, wild cherry bark, fennel, cinnamon bark, and orange peel helps soothe the throat and sinuses.

Breathe Easy tea bags

Traditional Medicinals tea bags that contain licorice root, eucalyptus, fennel, Bi Yan Pian (a mixture of herbs), peppermint, calendula, pleurisy, and ginger help relieve congestion. Simply breathing in the aroma of such teas may bring comfort.

Gypsy Cold Care Traditional

Traditional Medicinals tea bags that contain a mix of different herbs: elderberry flowers, yarrow, peppermint, hyssop, rose hip, cinnamon bark, ginger, safflower, clove, and licorice help with strengthening the immune system and relieving congestion.

Citrus

Fresh oranges and lemons can be found in the produce section of a Super Walmart. Natural orange juice also works well. Any citrus cleanses and provides an extra dose of vitamin C. Super Walmarts always has citrus fruit of some sort!

Ginger

Ginger works well for gastric upset. Sometimes you can find ginger tea bags at Walmart. Or, purchase fresh ginger root or ginger root powder in the produce or spice sections of Walmart. Add raw honey for an antiviral boost.

Garlic

Fresh garlic or garlic chopped and sold in jars contain many anti-bacterial and antiviral benefits for cold and flu.

Vitamin C and zinc

Check the vitamin section for Spring Valley supplements, such as vitamin C and zinc. (Immune boosters). I just happen to know that Spring Valley sells decent quality vitamins for a super frugal price.

Cinnamon

Look in the spices and baking section for cinnamon powder and/or sticks. Cinnamon is an anti-bacterial and anti-oxidant. This can be added to teas or made into syrups with raw honey. Add it to anything to bring comfort.

Cocoa powder

Cocoa powder detoxes your body and may help you get over a cold faster.

Mix cocoa powder (the real stuff, not hot chocolate) with coconut oil, and stevia. Or, use raw honey to make chocolate syrup. Whatever you do, don’t buy a chocolate bar. These are made with so many preservatives in those that they won’t do anything but drag you down.

Organic coconut oil

Coconut oil, preferably, cold-pressed, naturally heals because of its anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. Cold-pressed keeps most of the coconut oil properties without heating.  However, refined coconut oil works well too.
